Our medical team is experienced in the day-to-day care of children with complex medical needs. Led by our Medical Director and Nurse Practitioners, we work hand-in-hand with each child’s outside specialists to create a personalized care plan—so they receive coordinated support.
Our therapists use movement, play, and personalized care to help children build strength, improve function and independence, and reach milestones at their own pace. We work closely with families and care teams to ensure every child moves forward.

Our respiratory therapists specialize in caring for children who rely on technology to breathe safely and comfortably. From trach and vent management to oxygen therapy and caregiver training, we tailor each plan to meet the child’s needs—and help them move toward independence.
At Ditmas, childhood comes first. Our daily recreation program is designed to bring happiness, connection, and moments of magic into every child’s day—whether it’s gardening in the rooftop greenhouse, splashing in the summer pool, petting a bunny, or dancing to live music.
Every child deserves to learn, no matter their diagnosis. That’s why our school has its own dedicated floor with fully equipped classrooms, certified teachers, and a setup designed for every type of learner, including children on vents or with mobility needs. Through DOE programs and early intervention services, we bring learning to life—tailoring education to each child’s pace, ability, and future goals.
Our social worker walks with you through the paperwork, planning, training, and emotions—until you’re fully prepared to take the next step forward, together.
Our palliative care team is here to ease suffering, support quality of life, and walk beside your family with compassion, respect, and understanding—at every stage of your child’s illness.
